For my project, I chose "the beauty in where you are" because I feel like we always take things for granted. I know I'm guilty of this. Sometimes we get upset over things we cant have when we should just appreciate what we have and embrace it. So I used my favorite local photos to show that theres beauty everywhere we just have to find it.

In each picture I captured a student of Global Concepts, and I chose it because these are the people that i've encountered for many years and I was just curious on their views of the issues of the world.
What I represented in my photos was style. In order to have style you must have matching shoes to go with your outfit. In the photos I have captured you can see that every shoe being worn is correctly put together with the peoples outfits.
This is a photo essay that shows what I do in my daily life. I chose to capture my routine because I think not a lot of people know me very well and what I do in my daily life normal and basic to me but interesting to other people.
I chose to take pictures of the teachers around Global, some of them while posing and others when they're unaware. Along with their photos, I asked them to share their best advice in teaching. The reason I chose to do my photo essay on teachers is because they are often overlooked and are taken for granted by their students. I took the photos of each teacher in their classrooms because it shows them in their workplace and where they spend a majority of their time.
In this photo series, I photographed college students who are currently working while going to school. I went to a few different stores and asked the workers a series of questions. I wanted to get different opinions from students to see how they felt about working while going to school. I wanted to know because I'm currently a senior in highschool, going to college and I plan on keeping my job. The stores I went to were CV's Pharmacy, Wegmans, Target, and Starbucks. I wanted to know what keeps them motivated to continue working and going to school at the same time. If they believed working effects their grades at school. How their parents felt about them doing both, and what are the biggest difficulties from it. I got most of the same responses it can be very hard to work and go to school at the same time, finding time to juggle everything can be a challenge. But it really all depends on the person and if they're willing to do it.
What this collage consists of is pictures of my sister and my friends. I chose to capture these pictures because the love that you get from your family and friends is significant and amazing. Your friends don't have to be related to you to be considered family, it's all the same love.
I chose to capture animals at the SPCA because there are so many animals that are in need of a loving home. Some of these animals were afraid and distant from people, and others were loving and just wanted to play. In some of these pictures you can tell some are scared and in pain. I set out to take these pictures because not everyone is able to see these animals and what they go through.
These five pictures capture household pets and the reason I decided to do the theme of pets is because every animal or pet of the household plays an important role in the home. Pets help owners through some things if they're having a rough time and with the love and support of animals being by their side, the owner feels happier. The reason I took pictures of the animals without their owners is because the main importance is being focused on the animal since they are the main subject.
I focused on my 15-year-old cousin. It's showing the viewer the differences she faces every day being so young and dealing with the condition. I chose to capture this because I feel like although it is a common condition, it is not talked about as much as you would think. Being a teenage girl your life already is hard, dealing with the whole stress of growing up and boys and school cannot be easy, especially with a pump attached to your hip. She faces the fear of actually dying every day if she doesn't keep her blood sugar at a certain amount, the pressure is on for her. This is representing what happened to create that birthday party but also the fun things we do during the birthday party. This just shows a lot of happiness and family gathering. Originally I was going to go to a rehab center and hear people stories about their lives , but sadly with the time frame I had I was unable to do so . I had chosen this as a backup because I wanted to have a unique project but also show the fun of birthday parties and how enjoyable they are.
